It’s not the kind of film that’s worth writing a deep review of – but I will say that DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: HONOUR AMONG THIEVES is the most fun I’ve had in the cinema for a very long time. It’s a near-perfect light comic adventure that kept me solidly entertained throughout its (surprisingly long) running length. I came out of the cinema absolutely buzzing.
So much fun, with a witty script and brilliant comic timing from the cast and some pretty damn good action sequences too. While I was watching it, I just kept thinking “Why couldn’t the WILLOW series on Disney+ have been as fun as this?”
But hey, we finally got a fun fantasy movie that will hopefully revitalise the genre. Oh – and Hugh Grant shamelessly steals every scene he’s in. Since Paddington 2, he’s become my favourite performer of pantomime villains (which is honestly a skill we should all respect!)
